Nature Park "Rusenski Lom"

Nisovo is located in the picturesque nature park "Rusenski Lom". The park is proposed to receive the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to the presence of vast diversity of endangered species of the flora and the fauna. Our winery is located in this unique and picturesque preserve.

Monument of St. Tryphon - guardian of the vineyards

South of Nisovo, close to the numerous vineyards, is raised a monument to St. Tryphon, who is considered in to be the guardian of the vineyards. On the 1st (14th) of February the Bulgarian orthodox church commemorates the day of St. Tryphon. On this day, according to an ancient Bulgarian tradition, the vine-growers pray for fertile crops throughout the year, by ceremonially trimming vines.

The rock-hewn monastery of Ivanovo

Close to the village of Ivanovo, in a beautiful rock canyon along the river of Rusenski Lom, are located the rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo (also called Rock-hewn monastery of Ivanovo). In the 13th - 14th century the churches were inhabited by hermits and monks. The monastery's premises were hewn in the rocks, at a 30 meter height. The cells of the monastery are covered in religious paintings. The Ivanovo rock-hewn churches are part of the United Nations' program for World Heritage

Medieval town of Cherven

Cherven is a fortified town, dating from the XIIth - XIVth century. In order to facilitate its protection, the town was built on a hard to reach rocky plateau, surrounded by the river of Cherni Lom. Despite the town's age parts of the city walls and towers are still preserver, as well as parts from the inner city. The fortress has the statute of an archeological preserve.
